A practical list for the weeks before listing. Not every item applies to every home; the aim is a property that shows clearly and holds up to inspection.
Repairs
- Leaks, drips and running toilets fixed
- Doors, drawers and windows open and close smoothly
- Burnt-out bulbs replaced; lighting consistent in color
- Obvious wear addressed: loose hardware, damaged trim, cracked caulk
Presentation
- Surfaces cleared and personal items reduced
- Paint touched up or refreshed where it matters most
- Furniture arranged for circulation and light
- Entry, front beds and walkway tidy
Paperwork
- Disclosures reviewed with your agent
- Records of recent improvements, permits and warranties
- HOA documents, if applicable
- Utility averages and service providers
